My husband introduced me to this stirring song, written by Jon Anderson and Vangelis. Donna Summer says she connected to the song as an expression of spirituality. And with the production by Quincy Jones, created a timeless, uplifting work.
I needed uplifting after these months of ongoing political decline. After the passage of the Shameful Act and receiving celebratory emails from politicians and the head of Social Security, I felt defeated.
But the words of this song opened my heart and reminded me of its power. With our hearts, the motivation of love, compassion, and courage keeps this world turning. It is with our hearts we rise with resistance and strength. And the wheels of history will turn again.
